Re: ARRL 10M Contest Log

Andy, You might take a look at N1MM Plus. It's free, and it will generate a cabrillo log, as well as an adif to import into Log4MM. It might seem confusing at first, but you don't need to use all of the features. You would probably only need to use the log module itself. https://n1mmwp.hamdocs.com/ ...

Re: WSJT-X and LOG4OM - Newbie Question

I don't run WSJT-X and JTAlert as administrator, and I don't have any problems. I don't interface WSJT-X through Omni Rig, so that avoids that issue (I use a Microham Microkeyer).

Re: Sending Comments to EQSL & LOTW

AFAIK, LOTW doesn't use the comment field. As far as eQSL is concerned, here is a statement from their FAQ: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------...

Re: 1.39 question

You can log directly from WSJTx to Log4OM, and still run JTAlert for its alert features. Just turn off Log4Om logging in JTAlert. I believe based on my experience that direct logging is more reliable. Doug W7DRM If you turn off Log4OM logging in JTAlert, then Scan Log and Rebuild won't work, and th...

Re: 1.39 question

There could be one disadvantage to logging with WSJT-X instead of JTAlertX. If you do this, JTAlert might not work for giving you alerts, and Scan Log might not work. And that may not be any problem for some OM. They may not want to use JTAlert or may not even be aware of its availability. At the l...

Re: FT4 Logging problem

If you don't use JTAlert to log to Log4OM, then some of the JTAlert functions might not work - alerts, scan log, etc.

Re: configuring so WSJT-X logs to Log4OM

Kenn, You will see that those pages refer to JTAlert. If you aren't already using it, I highly recommend it. It logs to Log4OM, and does several other useful things as well. It also has excellent support form the developer, Laurie, VK3AMA, in the user group on groups.io https://hamapps.com/ 73, Jim ...

Re: Grid is missing

Actually, the grid might not come from a lookup. The grid would most likely come from the grid sent by the other station. As an example, I just had a QSO with no lookups enabled, either in JTAlert or Log4OM (WSJT-X doesn't do lookups). The grid the other station sent was logged in Log4OM. One possib...

Re: Odd log entry duplication issue with WSJT-X

Terry, I tend to be a bit of a "belt and braces" man myself. My backups actually go somewhat beyond what I mentioned. I backup my important files to an external drive once an hour, and keep two days worth of those. I also do a complete drive image once a day, and keep five of those. Log4OM files are...
