SWL

OK, I made an HF contact with someone and chatted for a while. A short wave listener heard the conversation and correctly noted the contact. He wants a QSL card which I will gladly send him. The question is, how do I log that in Log4OM? I didn't actually contact the SWL but I do want to record that ...

Re: 60 Meter Question

Manuel and others, I am attaching the XML file to this message. My file is called bandplan_dxcc291, but you will need to rename it to the appropriate DXCC region, which I believe in your case would be bandplan_dxcc272. Be sure to back up your original file so that you can restore it if something goe...

Re: 60 Meter Question

Finally, I found time to sit down and after a bit of programming, this problem is solved. I modified bandpland_r2 but it didn't seem to have an effect on the error messages. In looking at the files in that folder, I found bandplan_dxcc291 (the 291 refers to my dxcc region) and it seemed to have simi...

Re: 60 Meter Question

I am sure the governments are wise and know that radio waves act differently when they cross boundries ;).

Re: 60 Meter Question

I am going to have to play with that a bit. I opened the bandplan_r2 file and it did not have a 60 meter section. I added one but the problem is that the 60 meter band is unusual in that different modes don't occupy different parts of the band, but CW and Phone overlap near the same frequencies. Tha...

60 Meter Question

If I work a station on 60 meter SSB, the program has no problem. But if I work a station on 60 CW, it gives me an "Out of Band" error. The 60 meter CW frequencies are 1.5 kHz above the SSB frequencies. If I click "OK" on the warning box, it will take the entry, but I can't find a setting to make the...

Re: eQSL Upload and Download

OK, guys, now I am really impressed. I have done a few more SOTA activations and in Log4OM I checked the box to auto-upload my eQSLs. I was reluctant to do that in the past because I thought it would be an undue burden on my SOTA friends to have to deal with all those eQSLs. But just the opposite is...

Re: eQSL Upload and Download

Terry and Jim, you brought up something interesting. You both asked why I do not automatically upload all my eQSLs. Actually, that goes back a ways for me. I had been away from the hobby for many years due to work, but got interested again once I retired. My past experience with QSL cards involved t...

Re: eQSL Upload and Download

Hi Terry, I checked my eQSL box and having three new cards, I tried again. I was able to do what I want but it did take a bit of making sure all the Log4OM searches were activated and correct buttons were pushed. Here is what I did (I apologize for being lengthy). 1. I opened the Log4OM Management t...

Re: eQSL Upload and Download

Hi Terry, Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have entered the options in the Settings/External Log tab. The only application I use is eQSL; I have entered my User ID, Password, and QTH Nickname. Log4OM does retrieve and upload records so I believe that part is working fine. I reviewed the YouTube video ab...
