Got it !

it was the image download, once disabled the flag "Show profile image" in the "Info Providers" --> "Configuration" the lookup completes immediately.

So the problem is definitively dependant from the download from the qrz CDN.

I've opened the microHam CW keyer and it uses a genuine K1EL chip but of 1st generation.
Anyway the difference may also be in the microHAM driver that they have developed, I'm almost sure that the problem will get self resolved if we could get rid ot it ......

Right Terry I do so, but some time while clicking the web lookup button with the mouse it is quite easy to go over the Save QS button, being so close. I guess that the 2 buttons are too close each other. Quite often it happens to click the wrong one resulting in loggin a QSO not occured or to not log a good one, and sometime You don't realize that. Spacing the 2 and may be using different colors, will result in less unwanted actions. Thanks Giorgio
