Having the ability to do simple rig control like freq changing, rf output etc, through Log4om would eliminate the need to run any external control programs along side Log4om....Phil
Hi to All, This is just a follow-up on my last post. I wasn't able to configure the free version of Z/A firewall. The Pro version does have a facility to allow TCP and UDP ports through. I've decided to use the free Commodo firewall; it works very well with Log4OM and JT-Alert,. TNX 73..Phil
Hi Terry, I finally discovered why I couldn't get Jt-Alert to talk to Log4om; it was my firewall Zone Alarm . Disabling Z/A is not enough; it can't be running at all. Right now I'm using Windows firewall. If I can configure Z/A so it allows the the 2 programs communicate, I'll post it here. Tnx..Phi...
Tnx, It's been a very frustrating experience, but maybe someday I'll figure out why it doesn't work. I tried with the firewall and virus protection off. I also scanned with malwarebytes which didn't find any malware. I set and reset jt-alert to work with log4om many times. it's probably just a fluke...
Terry, If I simply want to use JT-alert with WSJTX and log4om, will that work? What I rally want to do is forward the log data from wsjtx through jt-alert to log4om. Does DM780 have to be in the picture? tnx...Phil
Terry, I meant the HRD suite, but HRDlogbook(part of HRD suite) does have a qso forward option via UDP. There must be a conflict on my machine between log4om and an ongoing process running in the background. Thanks 73..Phil
Tnx for all your suggestions. I went over everything more than 20 times, but no success. When I do a CMD netstat -a, it shows that UDP port 2236 is opened by the communicator, but can't get jtalert or hrdlog to send data to the sql database. I've been using jtalert jt65/jt9 for a few years with hrdl...
Hi, Been trying to get log4om to receive qso data from jt-alert . No luck. I spent alot of time with Laurie the author of jt-alert. He can't figure out what's wrong!. I also tried to send qso data to LOG4OM from HRDlogbook, no luck. It seems UDP isn't working for me. I've been playing with this now ...
