Icom IC-7300 driver issue
Having previously used my spare radio, an IC-7300, with Log4OM on both a Windows 10 desktop and a Windows 10 laptop, it was frustrating to find it didn’t communicate via USB to either computer. An IC-9700 worked fine with Log4OM under Omnirig on the desktop. Neither Log4OM, nor Minos, would talk to ...

Re: Cluster country error with A60EXPO/2
Hi Jim
Except that if I type the callsign into Log4OM it correctly shows UAE… it’s only the cluster input that shows the country incorrectly.
It’s not a big issue, but an anomaly that puzzles me as to where the country error occurs.

Cluster country error with A60EXPO/2
At the moment there is a station from the United Arab Emirates that appears on the Cluster part of Log4OM as Botswana... If I enter the call, the country appears correctly as UAE. The callsign is A60EXPO/2 Am I missing a setting as to why it shows as Botswana in the Cluster part of the log? Thanks D...

Re: Dealing with /P and country modifier callsigns etc
My main log at home has profiles for G4AON and EA5/G4AON. I have LOTW certificates for both and it works well. I use the old HamLog iPhone app to log my EA5 QSOs and email myself the resultant ADIF files to import into Log4OM. For UK “car portable” operating, I use a Windows laptop with Minos for RS...

Re: Virus in ver 2.9.0.0?
I added an exception to my Bitdefender AV and installed 2.9.0.0 The net control "lookup" option tick box is most welcome!
There has been a subtle change between the files in 2.8xxx and 2.9xxx as Bitdefender doesn't find anything in 2.8xxx.

Virus in ver 2.9.0.0?
Bitdefender reports the following when installing: The file C:\Program Files (x86)\IW3HMH\Log4OM NextGen\is-0MO28.tmp is infected with Gen:Variant.Barys.8268 Uploading the full 2_9_0_0.exe to virus total (https://www.virustotal.com/gui/), reports Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.C!ml in the file as detected by ...

Re: Map windows on initial screen
The accuracy of the map location depends on the other station providing an accurate grid reference in the look up providers web site. Unfortunately thousands of active hams listed on QRZ.com are too lazy to check and correct their locator square. For English hams, several hundred are shown incorrec...

Missing entries/frozen program
I may have found why my Log4OM sometimes misbehaves... On my daily net, using Net Control, closing the net should have resulted in the callsigns auto saving, one by one. It stalled and needed the program completely closing both yesterday and today. After the net today, I had a single QSO and that di...

Re: Distance window..886 miles on most QSOS
Check the locator square when you enter the call sign, and whether it shows a valid QRZ.com (or QTH) lookup.
By default, you are likely to be seeing your distance and bearing from the capital... in my case it’s London with square IO91vl, for those who haven’t updated their QRZ entry.

Re: Rogue locator square ignore feature
Terry, it’s an “own country” VHF/UHF issue, HF and other countries aren’t usually a problem. So mostly just one square is involved. In the case of England the square in question is IO91vl. “ignore” or “display in red” based on a user entry of a rogue square is perhaps not hard to code. FWIW, 550 ham...
