Re: Suggestions for the future
Tom Regarding contest logging software... have you tried “Minos” for VHF/UHF RSGB contests? It’s brilliant and specifically written for these contests, for example it has a calendar, pre-saved details (via a drop down box) to minimise the need to enter your details again for every contest (saved as ...

Re: Log4OM and screen resolution
Hi Daniele
I hope the problem can be resolved. Some amateur radio software is fine, some not. It becomes a minor issue with a laptop that has a 396mm (15.6”) diagonal screen and 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Log4OM and screen resolution
Running several programs on a new laptop, it became apparent that some are not "DPI Aware" and therefore can display poorly. One of these programs is Log4OM, which is "Unaware" of the screen resolution. Can consideration be given to correcting the display resolution issue with Lo...

Ver 1.37 Serial RS232 Winkey support?
Hi Guys I was briefly excited by the mention of Winkey in the change notes for ver 1.37 and also "Winkeyer support in Log4om provides full control of Winkeyer hardware for all Winkeyer versions" in the manual. Sadly, my RS232 Winkey still doesn't work under Log4OM. It works fine with N1MM+...

Re: Incorrect country, how to "fix"?
The HF0 call is a special event call and can be used in several locations. With no start/end dates we don't know when it is effective and I don't read Polish. It is like the TO, TX, etc. series calls. The HF0 prefix changed in March 2016 to Poland, although many lists still show it as Antarctica. C...

Re: QRZ lookup with EA5/G4AON call?
I think the issue of temporary “prefix/home call” is being over complicated. If I enter EA5/G4AON into the search box at qrz.com it returns a QTH of San Luis. If I enter F/G4AON it returns “not found”. Clearly the logbook requirement is primarily to enter the actual QTH of the station at the time of...

QRZ lookup with EA5/G4AON call?
The name and QTH lookup doesn’t seem to work correctly for stations operating in other countries when they have a specific entry in QRZ for the other country. I have entries for G4AON and EA5/G4AON, searching EA5/G4AON returns my England details, not the Spanish ones. I have asked QRZ Support and th...

Re: Incorrect country, how to "fix"?
The country file still needs correcting though, as it's reported as South Shetland Is in the cluster display.

Incorrect country, how to "fix"?
My Skimmer picked up HF0HW and Log4OM reported a new DX country (for me) of South Shetland Is, I didn't get too excited as the call was a special event station from Poland. I worked the station, but the log is now showing I worked South Shetland Is... Is there an easy way to correct it?

Re: Save mode
On the same theme, the drop down lists of Sent and Rcvd reports and modes can be edited, but when there is an update they revert to "standard" with endless unused clutter. Could these parameters be edited once and saved in an "ini" type of file? It spoils the program having too m...
