Re: POTA Data Entry On New Contact
As a hunter, the easy way to enter the POTA number is to put "POTA" and the park number in the comments box - POTA K-0042 - for example. It will be automatically be put into the Award Refs. section for that QSO. If you are using WSJT-X (or other similar apps) along with JTAlert for FT8/FT4...

Re: Grid locator source ?
I notice another issue with grids listed in the cluster. When I am spotted, my grid is spotted on the cluster as DM12, but it shows as DM05 in the cluster listing in Log4OM. Jim, This is because to avoid unnesesary load on the cluster we dont check every cluster spot with QRZ etc the spot locator i...

Re: Grid locator source ?
Jim, As I recall it tends to default to the approximate geographic center of the given country. Much more noticeable in large land-mass countries such as USA, Canada, Australia, etc.. I thought Lele had mostly resolved that situation, but then I don't run any FTxx modes anymore so don't have to dea...

Re: Grid locator source ?
If the grid isn't available from any source, Log4OM logs an arbitrary grid. I think it would be better to not log any grid (leave the field blank).

Re: Lotw users
TA4DX is in the lotw.txt file in the Log4OM configuration folder. However, that file was just updated today, at least here. It might be that your lotw.txt file hasn't been updated. Also, once it is, make sure you restart Log4OM. I hadn't done that at first, so he didn't show up as a LOTW user here, ...

Re: WAC shows 2 continents as W but have cfmed QSO's
Dave,
After reading your post, I checked and I have the same issue. In my case the continents only showing as worked are OC and SA. In both cases they are confirmed on LOTW. I regularly do a download from LOTW, so that isn't the problem.

Re: Using Comments and Notes
One thing I find useful about "Comment" is when I work a POTA. In the Comment field I put POTA and the POTA number (POTA K-8133, for example). Log4OM then automatically puts this into the "Award Refs." without my having to edit that particular QSO. If I don't know the POTA number...

Re: FFMA - Fred Fish Memorial Award
Bill is right. No need to separate other countries. As long as the operation is from one of the FFMA grids, it is acceptable. Also, any water-based operation from a FFMA grid is good. Here is a quote from the FFMA rules: 4. General Rules (a) No contacts through active repeaters or satellites are per...

Re: automated omnirig & Log4OM startup in admin mode
Bo, Since you are using Win4Icom, you don't need to run any of your ham programs in admin mode. I assume (I know I shouldn't do that) you have Win4Icom setup so that different programs (Log4OM, WSJT-X, JTDX, etc) that need to connect to your rig do so through Win4Icom (Tools/Settings/3rd Party SW/HW...
