Integration with JS8Call?

Post by WoWKO »

Hello:

I'm wondering if there are any plans to integrate Log4OM with the relatively new JS8Call, a derivative of WSJT-X. I'm currently manually importing ADIF files from JS8Call into Log4OM, which works of course, but more automation of logging from JS8Call would be wonderful.

Is this possibly in the time horizon for a future release?

Thanks, and 73,

The inbound UDP service is already in Log4om and JTalert already uses it to write in real time to the Log4om logbook

It's up to the author of JS8call to make the integration work as Laurie did with Bakery, I suggest that you make a request to the JS8call group or author

Thanks, Terry. After posting this topic, I realized that I hadn't asked the JS8Call developer the same question, so I did so. I haven't yet had a response.

Thanks again, and 73,

The developer's reply was to use the JS8Call API as it does not use the UDP parts of WSJT-X.

Hi, when I import the log.adi from JS8 to this program it shows that the qso is FT4 and not JS8. What do we have to do about it?

JS8 is not a real mode. It works with FT8 protocoll but without the timelimits.
JS8 also is not a mode in the ADIF specifications so you need to make a new
entry for it in the modelist.csv file.

If you do so you have to know that you not get any confirmation from the LotW.
It´s not supported there.

:) :)

ADIF specs here: https://www.adif.org/307/ADIF_307.htm#Mode_Enumeration Check Mode there.

For JS8 I created a new Log4OM configuration which is polling the JS8Call ADIF log.
Unfortunately, the path to the ADIF source being polled is not stored per configuration.
So when changing back to WJST-X, Log4OM continues to poll the JS8Call ADIF log :(

My log contains LOTW verified JS8 contacts. I added the following line to ModeList_user.csv:

JS8;JS8;MFSK;JS8
