WSJT-X logging without 3rd party software

Post by HB9BRJ »

For those who want to log WSJT-X QSOs in Log4OM without using JTAlert or GridTracker as a "repeater" in between:

WSJT-X 2.1.0:
Settings > Reporting > Secondary UDP Server (deprecated):
Activate "Enable logged contact ADIF broadcast". Note server IP address and port number.

Log4OM:
(1) Communicator > Inbound Settings > INBOUND ADIF UDP Integration: Activate "UDP Inbound" with same port number as shown in WSJT-X.
(2) Communicator > Interfaces tab > activate "Auto Start"
(3) Settings > Options > Services: Check "Analyze inbound QSO and improve data quality".

This works fine for me. In rare cases, the country is not correctly identified: A QSO with EA3FHP in grid square JN11 was identified as country "Andorra". The communicator's activity log shows that the ADIF record sent by WSJT-X does not include the country, so it seems to be added by Log4OM when importing the ADIF record.

I also tried "ADIF File Polling" pointing at wsjtx_log.adi but Log4OM froze after I logged a QSO.
