WSJT-X and LOG4OM in different computers

Post by CU3ED »

Hi,

For operating in digital modes, I'm using 2 computers.
One computer has the Log4OM and the other, that is connected to the radio, has the WSJT-X, with JTAlert.
The DB used is MySQL.
On the JTAlert everything is configured and connected with SQL, the UDP is pointing to the computer with Log4OM and the communicator is working and accepting requests.
But when I try to log a contact I receive a error saying that the contact wasn't recorded in Log4OM.
Is it possible to work with the 2 programs in this conditions or everything needs to be on the same computer?
Anyone is using a configuration like this?
What I'm missing?

All the best,

David

Hi David.
Yes, it's possible. Did you check if the error message was "real" and the QSO was not correctly saved?
Sometimes Log4OM V1 take some time before answering because it's polling external websites searching for detailed data to be included in the QSO, and this will be detected as a timeout by JTAlert.
We fixed that issue in Log4OM V2 that has been released yesterday (it's a new application, and require full install and import of last ADIF backup from V1).
V1 and V2 can live together.

Hi,

Yes, the message is real.
There is nothing in the Log4OM, and the QSO is in the WSJT-X adi file.
This is my config:
