Audible alerts

Post by WA2SQQ »

I tend to do more listening (while working in the shack) than operating. I try to keep an eye on the DX Cluster to see if any new countries show up. It would be very helpful if LOG4OM could provide an audible notification when a new country appears. Associated options could be:
Alert for all new countries regardless of mode or band
Alert for a new country that corresponds to the selected band / mode
In addition to the default audible alert, include an option so thata self created WAV or MP3 file can be used

Have you checked out the alert system we provide and the integration with Growl?

Looked at the user guide and it did not seem too intuitive. Honestly it would be so much easier if it were embedded into the program - one less program to be running.

One additional idea. Here in the US we have several classes of licenses. Has it ever been considered to have a feature that would alert the operator when they stray beyond the frequencies they are licensed to use? I know that when you exit the amateur bands "Out Of Band" is displayed.

My old Flex 5000 had this feature - the new 6500 does not.
