SWLs

Hi,

Just a couple of ideas.

First, I wonder if any room could be made in the QSL section for SWL QSLs? A dedicated comments box would do with some way of making that box visible in a column. Also being able to search for SWL QSLs would be a nice touch.

Second, I was just dealing with some paper QSLs and when I had finished, tried to close down Log4OM. I could not due to the attached dialogue. I wonder if unsaved data could be 'caught' earlier? In my case the box appeared so late that I had no chance of finding which QSO it was.

What do you think?

Regards

Guy

This only appears if you try to close down the program with unsaved data in the entry field - I.E. your last entry was not saved. All entries prior to this will have been saved already.

This warning is only displayed during the shut down routine, not before

I was just a little confused as the message seemed to infer that the unsaved info could have been anywere and not in the last change made.

Do you have any views on the SWL idea? I do like to QSL every SWL card I get and it would be nice if Log4OM had a place for them.

Cheers

Guy

As I am sure you are already aware there is a SWL filed in the ADIF definition's - See http://www.adif.org/304/ADIF_304.htm#QSO_Fields

However it can only contain a Boolean value so its not much use and that is why there is no entry field for this in Log4OM although you can edit it in the QSO Manager bulk editor

Probable your best plan would be to add SWL information to the comments field of the QSO that the SWL has reported, so an entry like "SWL report from ~~~~~~ 599 in Helsinki" then you could search on 'SWL' in the comments field e.g. starts with SWL

Dedicated support for including SWL reports is not a feature we have ever been asked for so clearly not a top priority and of course there are dedicated SWL programs for the SWL's and they are quiet specialised

Will do.
