Multiple DX Cluster connections

Post by iw7dmh »

Hello,

I don't know if it is already in your Mantis list, but I would suggest you to give more simultaneous DX Cluster connection to Log4OM.
Actually, what I am missing is the opportunity to get spots both from regular internet clusters and from a local skimmer sdr receiver.
It should help a lot during contest and dx hunting operations.

P.S.: I can't lo longer find the list

Enzo,
Yes we have this on our Mantis list and Daniele and I were discussing it yesterday.

Due to the structure of Log4om version 1 it makes it very hard and inefficient to code, therefore we will not be able to implement the multiple cluster connections until we release version 2.

Version 2 is some months away from completion but it will have many more opportunities for development than we have with version 1

Very well, dear Terry.
I think I/we can survive for a few more months :)

It would be great to have the ability to 'filter' by "Mode" and to select DX cluster servers from a drop down list.

We already provide filter by mode, band, current mode and current band plus you have the ability to set a filter at the cluster by sending a command.

There is a cluster drop down list in the cluster connect screen, plus you can add your preferred cluster to the drop down list!

You can also select which bands are displayed in the cluster window!

As I said previously multiple cluster display is on our list for Version 2.00+++

Hello Terry_G4POP,

You can also select which bands are displayed in the cluster window!

I am not clear on this feature.

Can I for instance, instruct the cluster to:-

a) presently only show 20/17/15m DX ,

b) and this evening, by command change to show only 160/80/40m DX?

Thanks and regards,

I am not at home so no screen shots, but yes you can

In options/CAT & Cluster tab check/uncheck the boxes at the bottom left for the desired bands to be displayed in the cluster

Alternatively set a filter command to send to the cluster and then use the Cluster F3 tab to send or clear the filter

I am succesfully using for this purpose wintelnetx

here is the link to download
http://www.k1ttt.net/software.html#wintelnetx

You can add different spot sources (cluster, local skimmer) into a single local node and access to it from log4om

see also the documentation for help
