USA-CA award Not Found errors

Post by w9nwrwi »

I was successful in getting log info into the USA-CA Award area. Have the QSL and LOTW (W) and (C) annotated and am able to review those stations that sampled for the the particular county by clicking on the W or C .

My trouble is that the last part of the list consists of approximately 75 counties that are listed with Red background and the Description heading indicates NOT FOUND, the Dxcc heading is 0 (zero). Under each band heading (i.e. 40m, etc.) is the W or C if applicable as worked. I am able to review that W or C with a click and the Show QSL window comes up and I can 2x click to see the Update QSO window.

I examine the Country IOTA SOTA tab for the station in question and I see no errors in County or DXCC area for that station.

Those counties not contacted still show the Red Background NOT FOUND and 0 under DXCC heading.

Not sure what is happening here.

Thanks for assistance,

Anybody have a clue of why this problem occurs? I guess I must be the only one.

Terry,

I looked through the App Data Roaming area and did not see that file. Where does that file live on the computer?

Thanks,

Yes its the correct file and it contains 3525 QSO’s

Your issue is caused because the US County references were imported from
other software and the county in some instances was not recorded in the
same syntax as we use in our US CA Award list.

Foe example your imported file lists CA-LOS ANGELES whereas our county
list has this county as CA-LOSANGELES (Notice there is no space between
LOS and ANGELES)

So when the program checks the recorded county against the county list
there is not a match which causes the “NOT FOUND” message

The SQL query that we provide can only go so far in updating the county
awards it would be a major issue to try to check each imported entry
against the award list for the correct syntax

So I am afraid the 75 not found entries will have to be edited manually

Thanks for checking it out Terry and providing an explanation. I suspected that cause and had checked numerous entries, but I guess I need to look closer at those 75.

Terry,

Is there a file I can look at within Log4OM to see what is required for correct county name?

Thanks,
Chuck

Yes Chuck,
Go to utilities/Award manager

Select the award and click the edit button (like a pen and notepad)

In the second tab you will see all of the award references
