GIA - German Island Award

Hi all,
award_GIA.xml
GIA-German Island Award (xml)
(51.58 KiB) Downloaded 419 times
Created a user award file. Everything worked fine except the import of the ValidTo date. What's the valid format of a date? Is this dependent on the locale setting or always DD.MM.YYYY (in the XML it's 9999-12-31T23:59:59.9999999)?

Nevertheless, changed the few entries with a ValidTo date manually, now everything works perfectly! This feature was one of the most wanted on my side.

Please find attached the .xml file for the GIA-German Island Award file, more to come ...

Hi Claus, it should be set automatically by the Award Editor...
thank you for this file, i'm preparing a library package with updated for awards, that we can release more often than official releases.

I strongly encourage everyone to work on awards and share his work with the community!!!

Hi Daniele,

I definitely will provide more awards.

Regarding the validTo date, I know that you can update this after importing the CSV file, but I want to do this already in the CSV file. According to the manual the header for the CSV file is as following:

Code: Select all

ActivationItem;ActivationItemDescription;ActivationItemGroup;ActivationItemSubGroup;Activation Note;ActivationScore;Dxcc;ValidFrom;ValidTo
I just need to know the format of ValidFrom and ValidTo.

if i remember correctly it's "yyyymmdd" year (4) + month (2) + day (2) eg. 20140422

i can be more precise in a couple of hours when we place hands on code...

by the way this field is not mandatory if you don't have a start/end date.
The only mandatory fields is the code, and dxcc if not set at award level.
code description is strongly requested but not mandatory

Hi Daniele,

I will give it a try tomorrow when I finish the next award where I need this for a few entries. I know that this is not mandatory, but sometimes a few entries only are valid for a certain period (e.g. because there is no island anymore).

Yes, islands sometime disappears. Here in Venezia this will happen often.

As information, when i preselect an award list (and a reference list) i'm checking:

1) mode (if suitable for award, else discard)
2) band (if suitable for award, else discard)
3) dxcc (if suitable for award)
4) date (checking award begin-end period NOT THE SINGLE REFERENCE!!!).
Date is used to manage "temporary awards" like Olympic games, special events and similar. Date is also used when editing a QSO: awards will be loaded with reference of the QSO date, not current date.

Once selected the award i'm filtering references by:
1) active flag (not active will be discarded in new entry)
2) dxcc (if award has not a DXCC list set the reference SHOULD have a single DXCC set, that must matches the current callsign under analysis)
3) date (a single Island could appear/disappear without need to invalidate the Whole award

Keep up the good work :)
