That is interesting.

Here is my setup

If I use Mikes VP8PJ as an example it shows up as Falkland Islands in the Country File. But if you look them up on QRZ.com they show up as South Orkney.

So just trying to under how the logic works. Why would it choose the 3rd choice (external source) over the Priority 1 (max) in the "deep search" you mentioned.
The CTY, which is not the country file, is supposed to be the most up to date so it checks that first but also checks the other sources if CTY fails or perhaps does not include the info

THANK YOU Terry.

I have also thought that CTY was just short for country file. My mistake.

I now see that falls under external databases and country file falls under data that Log4OM provides.

I'm having a hard time following this. I cleared the use of CTY and I still have the problem?

Mike the "problem" is not the top South Orkney Island information is it?

It sounds to me that they cluster does not do the deep lookup as its probably too computer intensive. But adding them to the QSO box is where it looks deeper and corrects it.

I knowing less and less the more I try to understand.

It doesn't take a deep lookup to see VP8PJ is South Orkney Islands. QRZ.com has it as such.

It works fine in V1. Both in the spot Cluster grid and in the top contact country info. They both say South Orkney Is. and so, if I'm filtering on "Hide worked" I will not miss "South Orkney Is." in V1. I will in V2.

For me, this is a fairly serious problem. I hunt new ones. If using V2 causes me to miss spots I would have seen using V1, I'm sticking with V1.
