Another thing in Log4OM after the 1st exchange in the QSO the mode changes from FT8 to USB as well as the grid being empty. However when the contact is saved automatically the Mode is correct FT8 and the grid is correctly filled in.
It would be nice to get the grid thing working so that the map shows the correct location during the qso instead of defaulting to the middle of the country.
Thanks for all your help so far.

OK so now we are getting to the point you were not refering to a display grid in JTAlert or WSJT or a grid in Log4OM like recent QSO's or Cluster your were refering to the Log4OM display of the other stations Grid locator (Maidenhead square)

Question
1. If you enter that call sign directly into Log4OM without JTAlert and WSJT running it the Grid reference found?

2. Did you enable remote control port 2241 in Log4OM/Program config/Connections/remote control tab as in step one on page 164 of our user guide

3. Did you set up both the ADIF Inbound and JT Message JTAlert broadcast UDP ports exactly as in step 2 and 3 on page 165 of our user guide

4. Did you set WSJTUDP server port to 2333 and check the boxes as shown in step 4 on page 165/166 of our user guide

There are two different actions involved

1. Is Log4OM reading a broadcast of the call entered in WSJT

2. Is the action of saving the QSO

If all else fails install Teamviewer on the Log4OM computer and I will set it up for you

The answer was no so I swapped the info providers as pic below. I also unticked WSJT_DIRECT in connections.

It Works now!!

The only quirck I see shows in the picture below. You can see the recent qso shows FT8 where as the current mode shows usb. I'm not worried about that as long as the logged contact is correct. Maybe you can add this to the list of things to fix longterm.

Thanks again for all your help.

No the USB is there because that part of the bandplan is usb but what you see is just a lookup so the mode is incidental because as you found the QSO is logged with the correct mode.

Your not getting a QRZ lookup because your not a paid subscriber, see the FAQ on this forum

Ahh yes, my bad, I won't use the qrz lookup. Strange changing the order makes a difference.

As I said before the mode is FT8 initially but changes to usb a second later.

best 73.
