Upgrade "DID NOT" break sqllite v2.17.0.0

Post by m3doo »

Just upgraded to v2.17.0.0 and I can not add QSO's any more

Log states following - I've reattached after changing the file name a little to see if it was locked elsewhere but it isn't a LOCK issue.

: [SQLiteConnectionControl] : New SQLITE DATABASE FILE: C:\Users\john\OneDrive\Documents\Ham Radio\log book\LogOMJD.SQLite
13:05:18.699 Info: [DatabaseManagement] : Connection Valid

Add fake entry into QSO screen and this is what happens on <CR>

[DbSqlite][#=zjNPG75uLL2sv] : [SQLITE] InsertUpdateDatabase Command error
[EXCEPTION] unable to open database file
unable to open database file
13:07:08.495 Error: [DbSqlite][SaveQso] : SQLITE SaveQSO exception while saving QSO with QsoId 20210919130708312
[EXCEPTION] unable to open database file
unable to open database file

Any ideas, or should I roll back/export to ADIF and move to MySQL?

Thanks
John

No need to use Mysql unless you have over 130,000 QSO's in the log or are running multiple contest stations simultaneously logging to Log4OM.

1. Can you see your QSO's in the recent QSO window
2. What is the QSO counter indicating at bottom left of window
3. Are you logging manually or via WSJT/JTAlert etc?
4. Did you recently move the sqlite log file to somewhere different?

Just off to bed and checked the forums via my phone so apologies for limited reply inline below:-

1. Can you see your QSO's in the recent QSO window
Yes all good - my last so on the 17th via log4om is entered.

2. What is the QSO counter indicating at bottom left of window

Apologies I can’t say as I’m not sat at it, but it’s exactly or +_ what is listed on my qrzcom logbook - except today I logged one manually while log4om was offline.

3. Are you logging manually or via WSJT/JTAlert etc?

Manual, and I also import adif from wsjt every now and then.

4. Did you recently move the sqlite log file to somewhere different?

No- nothing changed here.

Thanks

Then for some inexplicable reason you seem to have a corrupt database, I recommend

1. Export an ADIF file of your logbook

2. In the program configuration/databases tab create a new logbook with a slightly different name like add NEW to the name.

3. Import the previously exported ADIF into the new logbook

Make sure that you set Log4OM to make automatic backups in two different locations in case this happens again, because next time you might not be so lucky with the database being accessible.

As for what caused this, it was unlikely to be the update of Log4OM its more likely a bad disk sector or perhaps a windows update altered something.

Thanks for the ideas

It turns out my OneDrive Known Folders Sync is breaking it - so I moved it to D: Drive and mkdir LogBook folder > moved the SQLLite file there and now it works.

How odd!

That would do it, have heard of people having issues with one Drive before yet I have used Google Drive for years without a problem.

Do you want me to update your user name or are you expecting to take the full licence soon and would rather wait?
