Imported N1MM+ ADIF to log4OM2. QSO time change

Post by oz6tm »

Hi All,

Long story short; Log4OM UTC time error due to DST END? (FYI: Denmark, local daylight saving time end, Sunday, Oct. 30, 3:00 am).

During the CQWWSSB contest on 30+31/10/2021. I used N1MM+. Later I created an ADIF contest file (using N1MM+).
The ADIF file was imported to log4OM, with no error messages. Using log4OM QSL manager, I uploaded data (112 QSO's to eQSL, without errors, and send the QSL cards via eQSL. Some days later I received QSL cards. Some QSL's had the UTC time different from my log, exact 1 hour difference (minuttes = to my log)?
Log4OM added 1 hour to the actual QSO time. All QSO's, logged in the contest, between 31/10/2021 UTC(+0) 00:00 & 00:59, were changed (added 1 hour).
If You need some log files or other documentation, let me know.

Comments regarding setup and log's:
The PC clock is correctly set as (UTC) +1, Copenhagen.
N1MM+, logtime UTC (+0), ok during contest.
N1MM+, created Cabrilio contest file. Cabrilio and contest log equal.
N1MM+, Some days after the contest, created ADIF file. ADIF and contest file, UTC (+0), ok.
Log4OM, Import w. no error msg.'s, but time ERROR as ADIF file data containing TIME between 00:00 and 00:59 --> +1 hour added to the time stamps.

I know some UDP data logging will be possible, but I prefer the import possibility.

Any comments/suggestions are welcome.

I don't believe we change the QSO time of imported ADIF files

Email me the ADIF that you exported from N1MM that you claim we changed the time of QSO'S

time is managed everywhere in Log4OM as UTC.
That should not be different, as the import routines are the same. I will be happy to see an ADIF log, as Terry said.

A few further comments;

I have e-mailed Terry (G4POP) the N1MM+ created ADIF files and comments, as requested.

PC time keeping are set to auto adjust for DST, and using UTC+1 (Copenhagen)
PC OS Win10pro

Yesterday I tried some manual tests in Log4OM.
I manually entered some qso's using my own callsign,
Date/time qso 04/11/2021 UTC 00:00, log enter and show 04/11/2021 00:00 = ok
Date/time qso 31/10/2021 UTC 00:00, log enter and show 31/10/2021 01:00 = FALSE?
Date/Time qso 31/10/2021 UTC 00:59, log enter and show 31/10/2021 01:59 = FALSE?
Date/Time qso 31/10/2021 UTC 01:01, log enter and show 31/10/2021 01:01 = ok

e.g using ADIF import, or keyboard entry of qso's, looks like it is giving the same result.

I have Updated log4OM ver2., now running the latest SW, 2.18.0.0
ADIF import, and manually entered qso's, which were altered (+1 hour) by log4OM ...

now work OK, as expected.
