Manually Inputting Logs

Post by WA2SQQ »

I have quite a few contacts to manually input into V2. Did a search for "manual input" and wasn't able to find any specific tips for doing this, where such things as date / time / band and freq are manually inputted w/o any intervention from LOG4OM. Suggestions?

I love Log4OM but the thought of entering a bunch of files manually makes my head hurt.

I might consider entering them into an Excel file and there are Excel to ADIF converters out there that would make an ADIF file that Log4OM would import.

If I were you I would wait until we can refine manual input, you can do it now but we will make it easier

I’ll take your advice Terry. Thanks
Am I correct that while can import ADIF files, at this time V2 can’t merge an ADIF into an existing file?

You can merge ADIF files into existing Log4OM log. I do it every contest.

Run N1MM for the contest and after contest I export the ADIF file and import into Log4MM

Not merge as in updating existing records with records of the same QSO'S but with updated information like QSL status etc

You can add new records containg different QSO'S to and existing database

I used FLE "Fast Log Entry" by DF3CB. Take a look: https://df3cb.com/fle/

Joe
Thank you for sharing this! Hopefully Terry can comment on my questions:
1. So, do you have to configure this program to have each data column in the same order as LOG4OM V2?
2. In the example, I see band, but not frequency. Can you add fields?
3. From doing the export of V1 to the import to V2 I learned from Terry that there are different ADIF. Have you used this with V2 yet?
4. So, once you create the ADIF file, you import it into V2?

1. No, not possible.
2. Available fields are displayed in "Options" (Alt + E).
3. Yes, import to V2 is OK. FLE is compliant with ADIF 3.0.6.
4. Yes.
