MYSQL setup (first time)

Post by 9k2hn »

I'm exploring LOG4OM and because I do have a bit large log (over 400k qso's) I think I need to try MYSQL, but to be honest, I do not have any idea where to start, is there a step by step instruction how to do it?

Hi Hamad, I would also like to install MYSQL since I have over 182,000 QSOs. Did you figure out how to do it? The setup is asking for a MYSQL address? But I do not know what to enter. Hope all is well. I wish Log4OM2 would provide step by step instructions. 73, Dave, N4QS

Greetings Hamad et al.

I had already my own learning curve,
therefore decided to share my experience.

Uploaded to dropbox.com:
- MySQL-8.0.20-Log4OM2.pdf
- 28 pictures
describing step by step MySQL install routine
and import into it ADIF file with a lot of QSO's.

Here is link to files:

Text above in Italics and Bold (including link!) is __NOT__ valid any more.
Instead, relevant tutorial was integrated by Log4OMv2 developers into official Log4OMv2 Manual.

Hope that helps.

Works like a treat!

One thing I would add, if you are planning on using JTAlert, on your image MySQL-10 select Legacy method and set JTAlert to

Tom,
Can I include your guide with the Log4OM User guide downloads?

I would compile all text and images into one pdf file to avoid users accessing your download area too much.

Let me know please

This MySQL instructions are to the "letter." I've just did mine.

Thanks for providing valuable improvement.
