Backing down to earlier version - Any risk?

I am currently running version 2.8.0.0.
It is a frustrating experience, as when I feed Log4OM via UDP from N1MM+, or from WSJT-X, the Log4OM user interface frequently freezes up.
I am considering backing up versions to 2.6.1.0. Is there any risk that I will corrupt my log by that action?
The alternative is to export a complete ADIF, and switch to Logger32. (That isn't an attractive option to me, but I'm at wits end.)
