Possible Bug in 2.11.0.0

Post by WA2SQQ »

I run the Flex 6500. I run a lot of AM mode activity. For those who run Flex, please try this.
Have the radio on 75M, in the SAM mode Synchronous AM. Now boot up LOG4OM and note the mode that LOG4OM shows. On mine it shows USB. If I select then "AM", LOG4OM immediately picks up the mode correctly, as AM.

SAM is AM mode but I believe that SAM probably send out a different Mode #.
On the FLEX, USB = Mode 1. I don't know what SAM sends out on the CAT command, but I can find out. Or' perhaps s could this be something associated with Omnirig?
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this.

On my 6600 using SSDR v3.1.12 the mode in Log4OM shows "AM" when the rig is set to SAM. But I an using hamlib to connect to Log4om, not omnirig.

So was your radio in SAM before you started LOG4OM? If it was, it might be an Omni Rig issue

The radio mode when L4OM is closed makes no difference. I can close L4OM in any mode, set the Flex to SAM, and when L4OM opens it shows AM.

Hmm, i checked the ADIF 3 specs and i din´t find a mode SAM as mode or as submode. Maybe
that´s the problem that Log4OM receives only AM from Omnirig ...
73´s .. Juergen ... ALT-512 SDR (10W) , 50 m random wire at SG-211 autotuner, 2 x Xiegu G90 (20W HF TRX) one as portable Radio. Also TS-790E (40 W) for VHF/UHF with X-50 vertical and Duoband 4-Element LPDA.

So SAM is AM, using synchronous receive mode. The transmit mode is the same for both - AM

So the Flex software sends "mode 6" for AM and "mode 10" for SAM.
If "mode 10" could be remaped to "mode 6" that could be the fix.
I do suspect that Omnirig is the cause.

I'm wondering what advantages or disadvantages Hamlib would offer?

I tried it here, with Omnirig, ( cause I cant get the hamlib working) and I mapped SAM to am in log4om, because SAM did not exist
when I exited sam mode on the flex6300, went to another mode, then returned to sam, log4om showed I was AM mode.

does that help your theory?
