FT847 Support for Sub VFO Freq Stability

G'day All

Connecting FT847 to Log4OM via VSPE and Omnirig. During satellite operation where both vfo and sub vfo freq information is relevant to logging, the freq display polls back and forth between the two vfos. It also reads that into the fields of the logbook including band tx freq and rx freq. Has anyone come up with a solution where it does not invert and just stays as per the radio. Uplink is TX, Downlink is RX?

This question I think was addressed per an older version of Log4OM back in 2018, but it did not close out on my issue because I believe the rotator support was involved in the solution. I am not using rotator control, so I believe this is irrelevant to me. viewtopic.php?t=3489&sid=10176f04ff19e6 ... dd06099420

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

I dont think the old Yaesu radios provide a CAT command structure that supports sub VFO display

Thanks Terry. What happens is, in satellite mode, the freq display in Log4OM switches back and forth between the VFOs and therefore, so do the data fields for 'band'. So, it is reading it. It just doesnt know where to put it.

While I've got you, is there any plan to include support for Omnirig V2? I wonder if there have been any improvements in the coms between the 847 and the various software packages around, because the CAT on the 847 is pretty flaky. It sometimes crashes the PC.

Many thanks

No we have no plans to support the Swiss Omnirig 2 having tried unsuccessfully to communicate with the author over a long period of time, in an attempt to get him to fix the issues that he introduced. I know other software like Swiss log are using it but they dont support multiple CAT systems.

The fact the the *$& has CAT issues with 'Various software packages' further confirms that the issue is with the 847 code support from Yaesu.
