Questions regarding correct setup Log4OM, WSJT-X (JTDX), GT and OmniRig

Post by DO9KW »

Hello my friends,
I finally got Log4OM working together with WSJT-X (JTDX in the near future), GridTracker and OmniRig.
But I still have some issues.
When I am trying to close Log4OM it really takes a long time or fails, I read somewhere that this is related to not working LotW upload, is there anything I can do?

Is there a thread or video where somebody shares his settings for Log4OM with the above setup?

Some questions:
1. When I manually log SSB contacts for example they are uploaded to LotW, QRZ.com, eQSL.cc and so on, are they also visible in GridTracker or only when confirmed via the mentioned services and after a sync?
2. When I log a QSO in WSJT-X I set in GridTracker that this QSO will be uploaded to the above mentioned services and some more (HRDLog, Clublog) and also to Log4OM, my question is if Log4OM will upload this QSO again to the external sources and if yes is that okay or is there a special setting for that to avoid double uploads or only upload SSB/manually logged contacts?
3. When I log a contact in WSJT-X that will be sent to GridTracker and Log4OM etc. as mentioned but when this QSO is logged while Log4OM is not running and I open Log4OM I do not see this contact in the log (recent QSOs), what is the correct setting for this and will this be synchronised automatically then? (I have already enabled the ADIF Monitor and linked to the WSJT-X log as you can see in the screenshot). Somebody told me that it has to be set up in the connections tab, but how?
4. Is it safe to set "Import QSO from JT-Message #12" and what does this stands for?

A lot of questions but maybe it isn't that difficult 😉

Stefan,

Quick glance at your question(s) and screen clips appear that you are picking/choosing, but have not taken the time to review the Current User Guide. Starting on Page 210 of the English version of the guide is the discussion of integrating the JT Programs.

Following those steps (carefully) and you should be in good shape.

There is also a YouTube video relating to additional information about JT Integration.

One question I'll answer is that if you are logging Q's via Gridtracker when Log4OM is turned "off" then there will not be a record of the Q in the Recent QSO's (F7) tab.

Also doing double uploads to LOTW will also get you in trouble over time with the LOTW folks. Maybe not so much for an occasional duplicate, but if you then upload a huge amount of Q's that are dupes you could be locked out of LOTW for a small span of time.

Also ... when it comes to LOTW make sure that you are using the most recent version of TQSL. It was just updated in the last week as I recall.

I've provide links below where you can download the Current User Guide (I refer to the English version as I know it is the most current).

A link for the JT Integration YouTube.

A link for a listing of all of Terry's library of YouTube videos.

There is also a Quick Start Guide that I strongly recommend you download and absorb along with the User Guide.

Take some to sort through all that and I would expect all your questions will be answered with that data.
