Re: Allow user configuration of callsign lookup timing

I've installed the beta, tested it in a VM with a simulated poor network connection and it's working as expected and should eliminate 90% of the "colorful" comments from the DXpedition crew while operating!

Thank you for your effort Terry, it's made a big difference to us!

Terry and team - thank you for efforts on this issue with this Beta release.

First off, seems to certainly address the issue with miscopied or incomplete callsigns and the resultant delays.

However, there is some strange behavior when this flag (internet lookup on leaving callsign field) is utilized. Although the first internet search works in a normal fashion, once that is completed almost everything else that you do will cause the internet search to be repeated.

By this I mean if you press "Worked Before", or "Recent QSOs" , or "Main" - the search is repeated and it both blanks and then re-fills the data areas on the screen.

I don't believe this is happening with the normal (lookup on pause) flag configuration on this Beta version.

Hope this helps - just have played with it a few minutes and will work further tomorrow morning.

Thanks again for your help on this issue!

I can confirm Larry's findings. When the flag is set, it does seem to do a new lookup everytime a button is pressed. This includes the rotator controls, the rig selector and seemingly all other buttons.

Nice catch Larry!

I am usually typing in QSOs from paper log made whil workingprotable.

I ahev this issue:

I type in call, move to report field and type in report but program stalls due to lookup. After lookup is done, focus is moved to call sign and report number I typed is added to call sign which triggers anther refresh.

And lookup is rather slow although I am no fast internet.

I have no such issue, perhaps you have the Program config/performance/'Perform call search on leave' checked? try unchecking it.

Alternatively if entering manually why not use Utilities/lazy log?
