Label printing question.

I would like to stick labels on my QSL cards in the future instead of having to label them by hand. Which label printer would be a good choice? I'm thinking of label printing with thermal labels, not as usual with a laser or inkjet printer.

Is this even possible with the print function in Log4OM or is this only possible for common printers ?

Nice, will see where i can buy one of those printers.
Thank´s for the tip.

;) ;)

Have seen a few of them at Ebay Germany and will buy one in the next few days.
Last question: What kind of labels are you using for it ? There are some different
single lables and also endles labels with different width (e.g, 29 mm, 62 mm).

Which are the best for QSL labels ? ;)

I have a selection but for my QSL cards I use a 38x90 label and occasionally 29 x90.3

Maybe some more help neede if it´s arriving and i have to set it up with L4O
but first off all i will check the manual and play a bit with "try & error"

Hi Terry,

have some discussions in german ham forums about label printing. Most of the
guys said that labels, wich printed on thermolytic base, are unreadable after
a year or 2. That labels which printed by ink are unreadable after 2-5 years and
that the almost best way is a laser printer.

I don´t beleave that and i don´t know you have this labels checked out for a long
live. Maybe some other guy´s her which have received labels on their QSL cards.

Think this would be an interesting discussion .. ;) ;)

At work we use thermal labels as information label, within our process these are never used for very long.
However sometimes we use these same labels to mark something more permanent (like: CLEAN UP YOUR MESS at the coffee machine). And i can confirm that these thermal printed labels are unreadable after a year or so. The get all brown and as if they where burned , the black text also fades to brown.
Putting one up on a sunny spot is even worse, it makes then unreadable in a very short time. (weeks)
So it could be that when kept in a dark place it lasts longer and maybe forever, that don't know
