entering cluster via spot short cut

Post by g4lds »

Firstly I have latest issue of S/W, running as a stand alone log.
When I try the short cut to Spot, I manually put the freq in, go to press send and the band field or freq field clears to zero and it doesnt send comes up with "frequency 0 not in band (see show/band)
When I go enter via cluster screen its all ok.
Am I doing something wrong or will this only work when radio linked (not as i think it would?) :?:

Good morning Chris,
Are you are using the spot button that is just to the right of the call sign field?

I just tested this without a rig connected and it works fine, this was the process that I used...

1. Entered the call sign and the fields were auto filled by our lookup system
2. Changed the mode, in this case to CW
3. Changed the band to 20m
4. Entered the frequency without any decimal points as 14002 and tabbed out of the field - The program inserted the decimal point so it now appeared as 14.002.000
5. Clicked on the spot button and entered a comment
6. Clicked 'send spot'

The spot was sent and then appeared on the cluster exactly as sent, check the cluster for 0655z today for SU9AF on 14.002.0 comment = strong and spotted by G4POP

Hi Terry,
Yes thats the steps I followed but here it came up on Telnet Cluster page :
"Frequency 0 not in band (see show/band) : usage : DX (BY CALL) freq call comments"
Running Ver 1,11,5,0

When entered via F3 page Telnet its all ok

Should I reload latest ver??

Checking this issue. It's probably an event issue missed somewhere :)
Thanks for reporting
