Out of Band Error

Post by G7RVH »

Radio colleagues,

Some help required please.

Only on the 70cm band I am getting an 'OUT OF BAND' message across the entire frequency range. All other bands work fine as is the CAT interface to the rig. The mode box reflects the rig status as does the frequency display. The band box in the QSO window is grayed out and cannot be changed.

The set-up is as follows: - Omnirig v1.14, Log4OM v1.12.1.0, Yaesu FT-857D.

No mention of this error in the manual and I can see no way of configuring the software to define the bands other than at the top level.

I am missing something obvious but have no idea what!

I really like this tool. It is by far the best that I have tried and I am looking forward to using all the interesting features.

Kind regards,

Richard

You might want to change the band limits. They are in a file located it the Roaming folder>>>>C:\Users\K7PT\AppData\Roaming\LogOM/Bands_r1 for your region.

Also, you may want to try adding the range limits if it's not in the file. Just make sure it's as the other bands in format.

Make sure you have the correct region selected in Settings.

Hi Richard,
Please download this revised bandplan file and extract it to your C:\Users\Terry\AppData\Roaming\LogOM folder - Let it overwrite the original

430 -440 phone, cw and digital will no longer report out of band - Tested on my Icom IC7000 and it works fine

Sorry for the inconvenience

Terry & Chuck,

That solved the problem thanks.

Can't ask for better support than this!

I've taken the plunge and spent all day transferring the first of my paper logs to Log4OM - It could take some time.....

Thanks again for the quick solution.

Kind regards,

Richard

It's a pleasure Richard,

Boy what a task transferring your paper log, rather you than me!

I just upgraded to the version 1.15.0.0

Now whenever I try to enter a Band and Freq I get the red "OUT OF BAND". What am I doing wrong? I enter a Callsign, click in the Band drop down and pick a band (eg 20m) then click in the Freq number control, and enter 14290. As soon as I leave the field, the Band I selected clears (goes blank/no selection) and I get the error. I did not have this problem before upgrading. Am I entering the frequency incorrectly? Seems to happen on all bands.

Thanks,
Mike

Sounds like you did not click the lock button that we provided for manual entry of frequency and band - See image below

try without using any char different from numbers (no "," and no ".") in the frequency field

English translation

Do not use commas or full stops just numbers like 14250

NOT 14.250 or 14,250
