Importing ADIF but station callsign is missing

Post by MM0ZBH »

I have been using Log4OM for a few months and most features make sense.

One part I am still confused on is importing an ADIF that I have exported from a iPad logging program called HAM Quicklog. Everything imports ok but the STATiON CALLSIGN field in my log is left blank when i would like it to say MM0ZBH/P. I have tried both methods of changing the STATION CALLSIGN in my current profile and creating a cloned /P profile and making it active before importing the ADIF.

I suspect the problem it is a 'feature' of the iPad app as it does not have any way to specify the callsign of the station so it exports ADIF's with the station callsign data missing.

Is there a way round this within LOG4OM to populate the STATION CALLSIGN field when importing an ADIF? I thought it would default to the current profile callsign but it appears not.

I can work round it but if it is possible it would be good to know.

Thanks

Maybe take a look at the "Bulk Editor" facility within Log4om?

David, thanks for the advice. I had a look at that this evening but need to understand it a bit more. It still looks a little more complicated than I hoped for.

Maybe there is a field in the ADIF file format i need to use instead. Not sure!

Are you working with a single callsign in all your qso in the DB?
In that case

MAKE A BACKUP
MAKE A BACKUP
MAKE A BACKUP

QSO ARCHIVE
remove filter limits (count = 0) in the lower right part of the qso grid
select all QSO
open MASSIVE QSO UPDATE
check "verify operator/station callsign"
check SIMULATION
execute checks button
if everything is ok

MAKE A BACKUP
MAKE A BACKUP
MAKE A BACKUP

execute the last part without the simulation checkbox
