One PC 2 different Log4OM setups

Hi,
I am using Log4OM as my primary log now with auto ClubLog and eSQL upload.
I am now also going to participate in a special event with a different call and upload to another clublog account.
The question is: can Log4OM be started with e.g. command line parameters for this special event to select a different call and logbook + settings for clublog etc?

Hi Michael,
Yes probably the easiest way is to create a new configuration for the new call and upload Options/Select config then either clone the existing config or create a new one.
Just use the appropriate information in the new config and then you can create a desktop
shortcut using the config ID to start that particular set up.

Alternatively just modify the station call sign, locator and upload information in your existing set up.

Hi Terry,
Thanks for your reply and Happy New Year.
I know it can be set up manually. What I am looking for is a simple way to start Log4OM with ALL relevant settings set correctly for the call in use.
If it is not easy or possible I guess the alternative is to use another log application for the special event call.

E.g. commandline switches to tell it: use log xxx and configuration yyy.

Michael that is exactly what I am trying to describe!
Assume I have three different configuratioons as follows
G4POP - Home location in Essex
G4POP/MM - My Yacht
G4POP/a - My DX location on Orkney Island
Each configuration will have a different 'Config ID' as shown in my last post
So set up three different desktop shortcuts with the relevant Config ID for each one in the
Shortcut properties command line something like below
G4POP uses
shortcut ID Config=dcf0666e-dfa0-4ba9-8617-fca69aa76ec4
G4POP/MM uses
shortcut ID Config=415cd738-0384-4953-a71f-6901042394a5
G4POP/A uses
shortcut ID Config=d08e4e06-c1b1-4904-ae13-4fcecca27abb
Now clicking on the appropriate
shortcut will open Log4OM with the corresponding configuration settings
So G4POP/A
shortcut Properties Target "C:\Program Files (x86)\IW3HMH\Log4OM\LogOMUI.exe" Config=d08e4e06-c1b1-4904-ae13-4fcecca27abb will start Log4om configured for my /A address in the Orkney islands
So G4POP/MM
shortcut Properties Target "C:\Program Files (x86)\IW3HMH\Log4OM\LogOMUI.exe" Config=415cd738-0384-4953-a71f-6901042394a5 will start Log4om configured for my /MM details for my Yacht
Etc Etc Etc

To complete Terry's reply, let me add the full
target line of a
shortcut pointing at one of my profiles:
Code: Select all
J:\ProgramFiles\HamRadio\Log4OM\LogOMUI.exe CONFIG=02a6ffae-f64c-4a8b-9ac3-b863b1956ee1
Please ignore the path, I'm running Log4OM portable on a USB flash drive.
As Terry explained, each profile can have its own database, callsign, settings etc. Works great!

OK got it. What is not clear in the settings dialog is the database. I am using SQLite. Will it create another database if I make a config with another call?

You can make another database but if you use just one database you can sort and select on station call sign, operator call sign etc for sending and receiving QSL's an exporting ADIF or CSV files
