QUESTION

Post by N7RD »

Yes I am fairly new but just past 2 days when I open my log book all my QSO's are gone. I now have over 26,000 of them missing and the back up file will not let me put them back. What am I doing wrong? I can't believe they just disappeared!

Thank you,
Ron N7RD

Let's start over at the beginning.

You should, maybe you have, go to Log4OM File>Create New Database. Name it what you like and put it where you want.

Then go to File>Import ADIF which will populate the database from your ADIF file.

Once the import is complete, go to File>Open Data Base from where you put it.

After opening the data base the address should be in the lower right corner of Log4OM. It should be good to go.

It's been a long time but the display is limited to 5K Qs unless you change the limit. This restriction may be changed at the bottom of the F8 screen (Recent QSO) where it says "Display Limit". Set it to zero(0) and it will display all QSOs. This could slow down some features (just a warning).

Let us know how it turns out.

Re: QUESTION

Hi Chuck!
Well I've done that and all is okay until I shut down the program.
When I restart it I have no logs what so ever. So every time I start
the program I have to import new file with all my logs from the backup or I have nothing.

I would suggest a fresh re-install. You may have had a bad install download.

Let us know how it goes.

Re: QUESTION

Hi Chuck, reinstalled and all worked out okay. Appreciate all the help, ran same logging program for 15 years
and just got fed up with all the problems. Another quick question if I might bother for a answer. I have some
QSO's that i need to add, read the complete manual and didn't read anything about entering QSO's manually.
I would like to put in a few that seemed to slip thru the upload but want to do it correctly as to not mess up
anything while doing so. Guess I am gun shy, anyhow Chuck thanks for all the help, know you guys are taxed
with many questions so I do appreciate all the help.

Just enter them one at a time in the normal screen. Make sure you manually enter the date, mode, time (check the "manual Time" check box), etc. Then hit the Add button.

Bingo, next QSO!

You might want to suspend cat control in the settings menu to enable you to enter the frequency without issue, otherwise retune the radio every time to the frequency required
