Losing Communicator TCP connection JT Alert

Post by KD0ZV »

My communicator is losing the TCP connection every time after I log something with WSJT-X/JT Alert.

Works perfect but as soon as the program writes the log file for Log4OM I lose the TCP connectiom/

Are all three programs running with administrator privileges?

That is NOT just that you are the administrator, that's not good enough, they must be configured to 'Run as an administrator'

Hi Rich,

are your TCP connection in Log4OM communicator is set to the default port 8081 ?

Are your JTAlert logging settings are the same then mine in the screenshot ?? Except the link to the SQlite database.

Are you have UDP enabled in your WSJT-X settings ??

On my end Log4OM runs with admin privileges and WSJT-X too. JTalert can be but there is no need for that.
Here it runs without admin privileges and all is working fine .....

Yes, that is correct. I have all the settings as you mentioned.

I am going to restart the PC and try all the admin startups again.

I am only dropping it part of the time now.

Not just at start up! you need to go to either the install files and install from fresh by right clicking and selecting run as an administrator

or

Alternatively follow the instructions in our user guide for doing this with Log4OM and then apply the same method to WSJT and JTALERT

Think Terry means the way to go to your Log4OM (and WSJT-X) folders and do a right klick
on the Log4OMUI.exe and WSJT-X.exe. Now go to preferences and in the next window to
Kompatibility and check the Boxes for "Run as Administrator". Now you can save and after
the next startup the software will work under administrator privileges ...

Hi Rich,

as i said, on my end all is working well. Please try the following methode.
Download new install files of Log4OM and WSJT-X. Installing both with
administrative rights (Right mouse key and install as administrator).

Check out that the setup is o.K. and try out it works or not.

As i said, on my end all is working perfect.

If it´s not work after these steps check your antivirus and malware protection.
Could be possible that these softwares are "the bad guys" ... I only use windows
included protection ....

;) ;)

OK will try that.

I just noticed that LOTW upload also shuts off TCP as well.
