FLdigi ....

Post by MM0XXW »

I use FLdigi for my PSK contacts and have been finding it difficult to set up the connection!

I have the Log4OM manual printed and to hand but despite following the instructions to the letter it still doesn't seem to want to work however I am very sure it's something I am doing wrong

I keep getting the same ERROR message:

"LOG4OM communication services is not active or reachable.
Please retry connection or check if services in SETTINGS screen are
enabled.
If the issue continues please try running Log4OM as administrator.
There was no endpoint listening at http://127.0.0.1:8080/log4om that
could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address
or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details"

Log4OM works perfectly when using SSB, CAT & Cluster are both working fine.
FLdigi works fine with it's own logging system and currently I am transferring one from the other via ADIF.
I'm using Win7 Ultimate if that helps anyone point me in the direction of a solution

Martyn,
You must have the communicator running for Log4OM to communicate with FLDigi.

You can minimise the communicator but you must not close it or the link will be broken

If you still have issues send me a PM with your Skype user name and I will talk you through it

Thanks for the offer Terry but I re-traced my tracks and what I had failed to do was read & follow the instructions on Page 20 so now I've taken care of that both programs are talking to each other and I'm a happier bunny!
No-one is talking to me on the radio however but that's a fish of a different colour!!!!! :o

Sorry to say that this issue has reared it's ugly head again!

I have followed the instructions in the manual step-by-step and have double-checked that the administrator privileges are as required but each time I open the logbook and FLDigi I get the same error message as per first post.

When changing frequency on my radio the frequency readout on both FLDigi and my logbook are in sync but it just will not accept the logged entries from FLDigi to Log4OM!

Where am I going wrong ........ please?

BTW I don't use Skype!

It's very strange. Can you simulate a QSO in fldigi and send me both log files from Log4OM (log4om and communicator)?

You can find them (there is a known issue, fixed in new release, on direct open) by opening the /log folder.
/log folder can be reached from log4om HELP menu, last item in the menu (configuration folder)

thanks

OK guys, well I did have some issues with my old PC (it was slower than treacle on a frosty morning) however I have since upgraded to a new faster machine but I am still having the same issues and in fact I've found some new ones!

Initially I open fldigi then when I open log4om I find that another instance of fldigi will open up!
When I am using fldigi I normally have the main screen plus the logbook plus the browser opened so I can see what's going on around me (browser) and the logbook so I can see the details of previous qso's.
So when I start log4om I can also get another main screen and, for instance, another browser open up!

I have double-checked my paths via the manual but I think another session with TeamViewer may be required ;)

I am so frustrated  :?

Martyn,
Just a thought!

Have you checked in the Log4OM options/settings 2 tab that you don't have FLDigi set to automatically start when you start Log4om?
