Log4om 1.31.0.0 database issue

Post by VK7XX »

not a big issue, but annoying. Since upgrading to the subject version, it now takes a full 4 minutes to load my database (SQLite) whereas, before upgrading it used to take about 55 seconds. Did I miss something with my upgrade ?? is there anything anyone can suggest to speed this loading up ??

regards

Hi John

I noticed this too.

Not sure how many records you have (4348 in my database) and just timed it .... 39 seconds to load ..

I don't think my machine is a slug ... Intel i5 3.3Ghz 8 gig RAM Windoze 7 64bit ... and it certainly DIDN'T take this long to load with vers 1.30

Be interesting in what the powers that be say :D

cheers

All seems normal here. Are you sure it's not the connection time to the cluster you have selected or your internet connection to the cluster?????

When starting Log4OM, two things are happening, loading your database AND connecting to the cluster.

I notice at times the cluster takes a bit to connect too. Try a different cluster and see what happens.

Also no problems here. Database loading time is the same as at V 1.30 and i have near 27.000 contacts
in the SQLite database ....

I have to correct what i said ....

Have seen that i´ve installe the V 1.31_RC1 for my own call (i tested with RC2 for the clubcall and for DA200FWR).
After downloading and installing the official Release i have now more than 2 minutes loading time for the Database
with around 27.000 contacts.

So i can confirm that there must be a problem

I´ve downloaded the released now also as portable for the both clubcalls and no problems with those 2 logs. Only
the installed one has this long loading time but in the log of Club and SES i have only around 1000 contacts ...

Besides the long loading time of the database editing an existing QSO record takes forever to save.
Also the WAS state fix doesn't seem to work.
Because of the increased editing time I went back to the previous version and got the speedy performance back.

Same here, Windows7, abt. 50.000 QSO's from a fast SSD, take abt. 35 seconds, before abt. 1/10th of that.
I saw in comments about Specctre/Meltdown-Bug that appropriate OS fixes may show such effects, but I did not install any updates.

Hi all,

same here, I have big PC, we edit video with no problem with it. Big processor, plenty of memory. More than sure that it is enough for LOG4OM. It's slow when loading the database, and even when saving/editing a QSO, it waits a while before processing.
