DM780

Post by G6VMR »

Hi All

This is my 1st post.

I have read the guide and all the forum for DM780 and sending the output into log4om.

I run the files as admin and the communicator running. I have checked and rechecked the ports and allowed the firewall pop ups.

I still see no QSL info in log4om. It arrives in HRD only. This is the only thing stopping me from a full switch from HRD.

Running Win 7 last v5 HRD. Latest log4om.

Any ideas?

Hi Martin,
Have you set the QSO forwarding in DM780 options to UDP enabled with local host port 2236?

That would do it!

Also some computers don't seem to like localhost and will only accept 127.0.0.1 don't know why but it happens?

Anyway at least it is now working for you so enjoy :D :D

Thanks for the help.

It is just a little slow looking up calls to QRZ etc. lots slower than HRD. Need to keep an eye on this. It seems to want you click into the app to bring focus to allow the refresh???

Hi

Both return at the same speed this morning and an acceptable under 1 second.

Not sure what was going on there.

Could be a high load on QRZ due to a contest?

lookup starts 3 seconds (if i remember well) after the last character typed in the CALLSIGN box.
If answer arrives after 4 seconds, the process has took 1 second for asking the external website and reading the information back.

3 seconds was a "good time" for me, to avoid unuseful calls to external services while you're typing the callsign, overloading the external website

Timings are tracked in the program log too.
