IOTA Update

Post by GM8MJV »

Hi all

I have not bothered about IOTA up to now.

I now want to start collecting them - someone told me there was a way that Log4OM could 'update' historic QSO's, check for IOTA reference and add the details to the system.

I have been through all the options and can't see this option - is it actually possible and if so how?

Thanks in advance

Main Menu bar> QSO Manager>QSO Archive>Field Update> after selecting the QSOs you want updated and the field (IOTA)

CAUTION: Currently there is a problem with the IOTA database due to the IOTA folks changing their file format. We are currently beta testing a fix for this so would advise waiting until the prolem fix is released.

Thanks for that.

I had tried it but as it did not update anything thought it was not correct option.

I will wait till the new format is supported and re-try

Afternoon

I see the new 1.32 upgrade is out. Nothing specific in release notes re IOTA

Tried the update option and it still failed.

Did the IOTA changes make the new version?

Hi

Procedure I followed:
QSO Manager - QSO Archive
As a test specified 1st Jan to Today, search, select All - 636 records selected
Field Update - 'Field to update' - IOTA

Left all other options as is - clicked UPDATE - Green Progress Bar across screen - Completed
Scrolled across QSO archive window - All IOTA blanks other than the couple I entered.
Check Northern Ireland would have expected EU-005 (along with other UK stations)

Is there a step I have missed?

What you did was to delete all of your IOTA data from your logbook because selecting field to update = IOTA and leaving the data panel empty blanked every IOTA field

The changes we made were related to the download of IOTA database

Backup are good things :-)

Is there a way to update the IOTA field to what is in QRZ / ClubLog ?

See start of thread for details

If all of your qso's are on Clublog you could download from Clublog and import them into a new logbook

In a future release and if IOTA provide the data you will be able to download from IOTA and merge that datawith your log to update the fields automatically
