LOTW Download Issue

Post by NJ0F »

I am a new LOG4OM user. I imported my ADIF log from my previous logger and it all went all.
Then I set the LOTW part up and I can upload QSO's just fine without problems. My problem is that I cannot download any QSL's received on LOTW, and I know there are many.
This is what comes back:
4/1/2018 2:10:02 AM: Begin ADIF generation request
4/1/2018 2:10:02 AM: Login nj0f
4/1/2018 2:10:04 AM: ADIF request accepted
4/1/2018 2:10:04 AM: ADIF document downloaded
4/1/2018 2:10:04 AM: ADIF document parsed: 0 qso found.
4/1/2018 2:10:04 AM: *********** Warning: Returned HTML FILE in LOTW download. Please check file saved in H:\Data\Log4OM\20180401021004_LOTW_INCOMING_FILE.ADI

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you check the saved file as mentioned in the error message? It should tell you what the issue is.

Also try a search of this form for LOTW which will list all of the most common mistakes users make with LOTW

Terry,

Thanks for your prompt response. I checked the file and it seems my password is the problem. What I don’t understand is that it accepted my password for the upload part just fine. Is it looking for a different password for the download part perhaps?

I will do some searching here on the forum as you suggested.

Hello Andre,

your LotW password is not used for the uploads. Uploads are working only via TQSL by using your certificate.
For this you need only a pass if you have set a TSQL private password to save your certificate.

For downloads you need your login password for the LotW internet login page.

Please don´t use special characters like !"§$%&/(/()=? or something like this.

Juergen,

Thanks for the explanation. That fixed my problem!
I got several LOTW QSL updates of QSO's that I made after installing LOG4OM.

My next challenge will now be to research and see how I can have all my old QSL's in LOTW downloaded to LOG4OM. I would hate to manually mark each and every one as QSL received form LOTW but perhaps there is a way to get LOTW to send old info to LOG4OM.

Hi Andre,

open the Log4OM QSL Manager and use the LotW download facility. Check the Box "LotW rcvd date" and set the date to the first QSO date
in your Log. Then hit the download button. That will download all the verifications from the LotW.

Juergen,

Thanks for your help. It worked! All is well now. This is a fantastic logging program. My final frontier is to get something to work with this for FSK RTTY then I am set.
I really appreciate the help and assistance I have received on this forum.
