Hi. used Log4OM for a couple of months now, and after a steady learning curve, generally like the software. However, I have had numerous occaisions where the CAT connection quits working. Rig is Yaesu FT-1000mp using USB connection (FTDI) to computer. symptoms are CAT indication still flashes on radio, and Green CAT indicator stays green, but frequency stops updating after a few minutes. Sometimes quits when changing bands. I go to log a contact and find the frequency is incorrect. Sometimes quits when changing bands.
Different problem: notice that "OUT OF BAND" flag flashes when bringing up portions of 40 meters. (Probably due to differences between country frequencies.) Just wondered if there was a fix for that.

Re: CAT connection unstable
Out of band message is managed by a configuration file placed in the settings folder on your hard disk (help > show folder to find it)
Here you can find a file called BANDPLAN with indication of the REGION (R1, R2, R3)
make a copy of this file, then rename it appending a "_user" to the file name before ".xml" then open it with a notepad.
You can find how Log4OM manages the bandplan, the mode recognization and other things

Hi Jim,
Please try a factory reset of the rig and then see if it continues to loose sync, if it does please let us have the log file saved when sync was lost and without restarting the program.
What exact frequencies are causing the out of band messages?
I am going to change your user name to your call sign, hope that you don't mind but it helps us to know where you are from when answering posts!

Latest version as of September 20, 2013. CAT was used during contesting. Found out later that Log4OM isn't made for contest logging.

Hi Jim,
No it's not a dedicated contest logger and only has the contest facility for casual contesters! For full contest facilities like scoring and. Dupes etc most of us use N1MM and then export the contest log to Log4OM.
Did you try mu suggestion of a factory reset and if so what was the result?
