ha5uk wrote: 24 Oct 2018, 14:02 Hi,

Read thru the topic but didn't find any good hint how to prevent my issue.

It happens quite frequently that setup/profile is lost at launch. Well, have several backups so restoring config.xml is not problem and so it starts all right but after a few launch I have to do it again.

I'm about to blame my laptop but don't know what to do and it is getting annoying.
Runs under Win10, no virus or spy found, hdd tests end up flawless (1 year old SSD). Using this pc only for hamming - thus not much due lack of time.

Any help is appreciated.

Suggest that you send me a support request by email after next time config is lost and has been restored

Make sure you do the restore and send the request to me on the same day as the config is lost, the log file is generated new on a new day so needs to be the day of failure for me to see anything

OK support request received and you have two issues

1. You did not install Log4OM to 'Run as an administrator' see instructions in Quick stat guide Page 1, User guide Page 9 and our Getting started with Log4OM YouTube tutorial.

Because the program is not being run correctly it cannot properly access certain folders due to Windows security and therefore fails to load reliably.

2. Please update to latest version of Log4OM Version 1.34 as this has further improvements for safe loading and closing, you are using version 1.32 which is well out of date and was updated twice due to changes at IOTA, SOTA, Clublog and LOTW

Ok, done. Updated as administrator. Will see how that works, so far so good.
Thanks!

Hi Terry, no corrupt backup since updated newest one as administrator, so it seems to be solved, TU.

Yet another issue since this afternoon. Program slows down and ends up with 'not responding' very often (dependless what part of it is used - logging, managing qsl, using communicator, whatever). Sometimes freezes totally, sometimes gets back to respond after minutes. Nothing changed (hardware, software), all others run well. Virus, mailware etc checked, task manager inspected. Restarted PC many times.

Should I run last update again, or uninstall the whole program?
Will send you log file you might check what function is slowing down the software.

You have still not installed the software correctly the first lines of the logfile prove that where they say

Hmm that's not enough to run the update as an administrator then?

Have to uninstall and reinstall whole sw again?
