number of QSOs

Post by KD0ZV »

Just so I understand what I am looking at.

I noticed once I got above 5000 QSOs that the number at bottom stopped updating. When I dettach the grid, I get what I believe to be the correct number of QSOs.

Oddly enough I changed the Display limit on the bottom right to 6000 and back to zero and it updated.

Hello Rich,

the 5000 limit is set for faster work with the database. You can enter 0 instead of 5000
and all QSO´s will be show´n ....

;) ;)

Hello,

It was set to zero originally. That is what confused me.

Once I bumped it up to a higher value and back to 0 it refreshed and worked.

It's very (very) rare someone will need to view all his x thousand QSO at a glance.
Log4OM has powerful search characteristics and everything is always made against the whole database and it's not limited to data user see.

I'm personally keeping 200 QSO in the latest QSO list, that is far enough for rapid check of dupes in the recent activity. For everything else, Log4OM checks by itself...

Yea makes sense to limit the number but the language is confusing.

As an example I have it set to display limit = 500 currently.

On the bottom left it says QSO : 5381 which I assume is total QSOs in the database.

However in the section with Layout, Refresh and Search parameters it says Records found : 5000. I am having a hard time following that. I would think it should say "500 out of 5381 records shown". I do not understand where 5000 is coming from.

Hmmm if you limit the number of QSOs is it intended to limit the output to Google Earth?

Merry Christmas to all !

As Lele stated all searches and filters are made on the complete database, that includes Google Earth displays.

The only reason for limiting the number displayed in some windows is for speed and effeciency

Actually you have to pay attention on the Google Earth function. Whatever you limit your recent QSO to is what you will get in Google Earth. You can change that ever time you go into Google Earth (which I missed but its not persistent.
