Support for Yaesu FTDX-3000?

Post by KF5WXP »

Hi all, I've been using this program for a while now and really like it. I was never able to make it "talk" to my Icom IC-718, so I entered things manually. I have just purchased a Yaesu FTDX-3000, and would like to be able to run your program via CAT. Are there any plans to add the FTDX-1200/3000 to the list of supported rigs? I don't see it listed for Omni rig either.

Bret,
Alex never updates the website showing supported rigs and often when we look at the rig file the rig is there so the best idea is to download the latest Omnirig rig descriptor file and the check in the program.

If not then try the othe similar rig files like the ft2000 because most of the latest Yaesu rigs use exactly the same commands for frequency and mode

I just checked the latest Omnirig rig.ini file and the FTDX5000 is listed so that should work with the FT3000 etc

If you find that it does not work then email me a copy of the Yaesu CAT commands for your rig and I will modify the FTDX5000 ini to make to work

Hello, I also have an FTdx-3000 and have had no problems using it with Log4OM and Omnirig. Before I got the '3000 I had Log4OM and Omnirig working with an FT-450, and I simply left Omnirig with the '450 setting and it still worked with the '3000, at least for the basic functions such as mode and freq, which is all I need.

Yes most Yaesu rigs use the same commands for freq and mode and as we don't use any other data from CAT control most will work for Log4om

I figured out that the rig baud was set too high. Set it at 9600 and it connects just fine now via the FT-2000 choice. Thanks!
