STAYHOME calls too long to get QRZ.com data

Post by DK9JC »

5B4STAYHOME, E7STAYHOME, CR2STAYHOME, HZ1STAYHOME, OH4STAYHOME
Those calls seems to be too long, no data from QRZ.com will download. No name, no data
100% reproducable with all my Stayhome stations in the log.

Are you really surprised? we never get advanced warning of these crazy call signs so we cannot be ahead of the game!

How many call signs do you know that have 8 characters after the prefix other than the K7/G4POP/MM situations?

Try contacting them in CW during a contest...
obviously assuming those are legal registered callsigns. If not, they're pirates...

Terry, of course not.
But the point is not to discuss the reason, but to report an error. Whether it is then fixed is another matter.

Ciao Daniele,
I'm afraid I can't tell if those calls operate properly or not. I only wish to report that it is not working and there is an issue somewhere. At 2.4.0.0 I just looked and there I could reproduce the same behaviour.

We are extending the acceptable number of characters after the prefix but this may cause problems with incorrect entries but it's the best we can do

First updated to 2.4.0.0 where it did not work, too.
Today I intalled 2.5.0.0. Then I went into QSO manager, marked all STAYHOME calls and used "update info" to enrich all my log data. Great fix in 2.5.0.0.
Thank you!
