Manual Upload problem

Post by VK7XX »

This is the most frustrating, annoying and "I wanna punch my computer" problem I have come across for a long time... and it is going to be just as frustrating and annoying to solve..... because, it is intermittant. You just have to love computers... :D :D

Anyway, on with the show. I have mentioned before that for personal reasons, I do not use auto uploading to LOTW / eQSL / HRDlog.net or Clublog. In fact, I do not use Clublog so I do not know if this also applies to manual uploads to that site......... This intermittant problem applies to manual uploading to hrdlog.net and the subsequent updating of the information in the column 'HRDlog Upload Status' Sometimes the information in this column gets updated, and sometimes it does not.

After I log a contact, that column gets populated with a N ..... later, when I have double checked all my terrible typing, I will click on the postbox icom to open QSL Management. I enter the callsign in the box, click the QSL tab (or the EQSL or LOTW, the next steps are available on all 3 places) and then click 'Search'... I then click the row with the call in it to highlight it, right click, and click 'Upload/Update HRDlog.net.......'

I then go to the Recent QSO window and click 'Refresh'.... as stated above, Intermittantly, the column showing 'HRDlog Upload Status' will NOT change from N to Y yet, when I check hrdlog.net, the information has indeed been uploaded.

Intermittant malfunctions like this are very difficult to find so, good luck team.........

When uploading your log should show: "update result" with something after this statement
This could be useful for me to find the issue, when you cannot see the status set to Y (please check if also date is not set in that case)

Hello Daniele. This intermittant problem is one reason why I requested upload feedback in an earlier post in the 'requests' area... Anyway, here is the log entry for one of the calls that failed to update the column from N to Y
I checked on hrdlog.net, yes, this QSO in on the site so, upload did work. Also, I have added HRDlog upload date column to my 'Recent QSO' window and I can see that all the "failed" column updates have no date, even tho I changed the N to a Y using QSO Manager/QSO Archive to manually change the status.

This is because, even if HRDLOG is currently receiving the QSO correctly, it's not responding before the connection goes out of time and Log4OM closes connection due timeout reporting the error shown.
I will check for issues with Claudio from HRDLog.net, but i will probably increase timeout.

73 and Thanks
Daniele

I've increased timeout to 20 seconds.
This should be enough
