Help with V2 and Fldigi
Re: Help with V2 and Fldigi
This was an extremely helpful thread. The VSPE from Eterlogic, plus using OmniRig for LOG4OM and WSJT-X, got me exactly what I needed. Many thanks to those who posted the excellent descriptions and screen shots.
V2 is working very well for me all around

Re: Help with V2 and Fldigi
Hi guys,
If I understand all the posts about this issue correctly, I have to install additional software for FL-DIGI to be able to toggle the TRX into transmit......!?!?
That would be a bummer. I try to keep everything as simple as possible. Extra software including configuring isn't really adding simplicity.
My setup:
Rig: Icom IC-7610
CAT software: Omnirig
Logging software: Log4OM V2 (latest version)
I believe the IC-7610 has two COM connections through USB but I'm not sure....... Could this solve the issue?
Best regards, 73

Hi,HB9VQQ wrote: ↑21 Jan 2020, 23:31 In general you can use any virtual serial port emulator, for example the one from Eterlogic http://www.eterlogic.com/Products.VSPE.html or com0com http://com0com.sourceforge.net/ or the one Max is using from Eltima https://www.eltima.com/de/products/vspdxp/.
I am using VSPE from Eterlogic. My Radio is connected to the USB Port of the Computer on Port 3 (Check Windows Device Manager). In VSPE I created a Splitter
Unbenannt3.JPG
Com3 = physical Port
Com1 = virtual Port
Make sure speed properties of the Splitter matches your TRX settings !
I then configured FlDigi and Log4OM (Omni-Rig) to use virtual Port COM1.

That's it. Now you can key the TRX in Fldigi and frequencies are synced between TRX, Log4Om and FlDigi.
On Windows 10, connection is constantly lost if I work with VSPE. Is this a program bug or my connection? how to check? If I install https://www.serial-splitter.com/, will I have no conflicts between the programs?
I'd appreciate any help.
Re: Help with V2 and Fldigi
Hello, I also don't like the idea of installing additional software for COM splitting. And the Eterlogic VSP Manager is paid software, so \I have to purchase another piece of software.
I remember, that in Log4OM ver 1 there was possible to talk to fldigi and key from fldigi. So I don't understand why now in V2 the things are made more complicated?

Made more complicated by Fldigi going open source so anyone can screw it up!OK2TOP wrote: ↑05 Jun 2020, 15:52 Hello, I also don't like the idea of installing additional software for COM splitting. And the Eterlogic VSP Manager is paid software, so \I have to purchase another piece of software.

You can use the free version of Eterlogic or the free Com0com
