I’m a very new user of Log4OM having enjoyed using it for about a week, after which I had to perform a (scheduled) rebuild of the PC. First however I exported an ADIF file as I presumed that would be how to get the QSOs back into a new install of Log4OM. On firing up the new log, I created a new DB and imported the file and everything looked OK. During the rebuild I had a few QSOs which I kept a paper record of and once the new log SW was loaded and configured, I tried to add them into the log using the normal entry form. As I was making the first entry everything seemed to be working (QRZ info, map, distance, etc.) but when I hit “ADD” I got the message “Error saving QSO” “Unable to open the database file”. As far as I can tell everything else looks fine and the bottom right of screen is showing the path to the SQLite file.
I’d be very grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Chris
Problem after importing ADIF file
Re: Problem after importing ADIF file
I think you will find that you have to create a new log file before doing the ADIF import.

Re: Problem after importing ADIF file
Thank you.
Does that mean that after I created the new database I should have made at least one new entry manually and then imported the file? In other words does making a normal entry first create a new log file?

Re: Problem after importing ADIF file
You need to create a database so that you can add log entries or import entries. You can import adif into an empty database.

The last version by Terry G4POP is Updated: 05/09/2013 8:12 am (see first page).
goto Help --> Help --> English --> Force manual update
After popUp "Manual is available" you can read it from
Help --> Help --> English --> Open Manual
I recommend TO ALL reading the manual as it is a mine of information.
Enjoy Log4OM.
