I just thought I would share some information with you about how I logged QSO's while on my recent vacation.
Not wanting to take my laptop or even a net book I decided to log my QSO's on my iPad Mini, which I was taking anyway, but what software could I use?
Having cooperated with Tom at Rumlog on a few things to do with SDRDX I went to his web site and sure enough he has as promised developed Rumlog 2 Go for iPad.
The program worked very well and even provided a cluster facility which I find indispensable when working QRP with compromise antennas. I was able to find free WiFi in each port at dockside so all worked fine.
You can save the log to Dropbox but I just exported an ADIF from Rumlog 2 Go and imported that into Log4OM upon my return home.
There is a rig control feature included but it requires an interface called Pigtail to work and the interface is very expensive.
So my set up was
Yaesu FT817
AlexLoop with DIY handrail clamp
Elecraft KX2 key adapted to work on the 817
Ipad Mini running Rumlog 2 Go
Light weight and simple!
