I am having some issues at the moment with windows crashing.
When that happens, Log4OM loses all of its config data. Luckily I backup daily so could copy config.xml from the previous days backup.
Is there any way that this behaviour can be stopped?

Re: Windows crash behaviour
Hi Guy,
What version of Windows and when you say "crashes", exactly what does that mean? When, what else is running,??????
I don't believe it's a Log4OM issue as no other user seems to have this problem that I'm aware of.

Hi Chuck,
The crash is a BSOD. The loss of config data does not happen every time, but it's very close to it.

Re: Windows crash behaviour
Did it just start doing this? If so, can you do a system restore back to a point in time before it happened?
Then, determine what has changed between then and now.
BTW: looking at your other posts here on the forum, wonder if your not having some form of conflict with drivers or other software.

Re: Windows crash behaviour
I have been having these crashes whilst trying to get omnirig to work properly with Log4OM. I am just concerned that Log4OM loses its config in that situation. The crashes will stop when I stop fiddling.

Re: Windows crash behaviour
It has to be something with how your system is set up as most users use OmniRig as I do and have no problems.

Chuck,
May I have as many of the settings of your setup that you can? I must be missing something and your setup may point me in the right direction. If you have an Icom 7300 as I do, you may hold the solution to my prayers.

Re: Windows crash behaviour
I run a Icom Pro 3. Does it only crash when you run OmniRig?
If so, I'd try changing ports as there may be a conflict. And, my config wouldn't help you as I doubt they are anywhere close.
As you probably know, there are many users with 7300s that have no problem that I know of.

Re: Windows crash behaviour
Hi Chuck,
The crashes were sporadic and a red herring in this case.
I know that many 7300 usersa run omnirig and that is what drives me mad. I'll see what the 7300 group can offer.
Cheers
