LoTW download issue

Post by WA4THR »

I am using Log4OM 1.24.0.0 (yes, I know it is an older version, but has worked perfectly and I often seem to find problems if I "upgrade" to a newer version) on a Win10 computer. It hadworked fine for 4 years and uploads and downloads to LoTW were without issue...until this past week. Now uploads seem to go fine, but when checking downloads it just stops (see picture). No report of new QSLs and no further progress. My password has not changed, and I can log onto LoTW and see there are new QSLs, but Log4OM is not getting them. What might have changed?

Things change with external services like LOTW IOTA SOTA CLUBLOG etc and we have to modify Log4om continually so that these service continue to be supported.

If you fail to update the program don't expect it to work efficiently forever!

Today the ARRL letter explained that they changed some download protocols as of October 15 on LoTW, so that is where the problem came from. Good news, though, was a seamless conversion to the latest LoTW release (I am always scared of what an update will wreck on a working system) and it has no problems with the LoTW download. Thanks for a great program

Hi OM's,
I have just realized this downloading problem today.
Sorry, but I do not understand how to fix it; what kind of conversion to the latest LoTW should I do?
Thanks a lot.

I have the same problem downloading from LoTW to Log4OM. Problem began last week when ARRL made some security changes to their website. ARRL published a bulletin saying that there could be problems downloading ADIF to logging programs (http://www.arrl.org/news/arrl-website-s ... -downloads).

I am running Log4OM version 1.34.0.0. Everything was working OK until last week. Fix in progress?

You must update to version 1.34 and install it to 'Run as an administrator' see instructions in Quick stat guide Page 1, User guide Page 9 and our Getting started with Log4OM YouTube tutorial.'

As you can see from the received text it is working 100% for me and other users with this issue resolved it by intalling the latest version of Log4OM V1.34 and installing it to 'Run as an administrator' see instructions in Quick stat guide Page 1, User guide Page 9 and our Getting started with Log4OM YouTube tutorial."

Try a reinstall as above and check that your LOTW log in user name and password have not changed and do not include any special characters like !"£$%^&*()+}~@?><

Hi Terry,
Thanks for the fast reply. Those special characters are really great for secure passwords, but I guess they create havoc with certain login systems. I did change my PW and added one of those characters. Removing the character solved the problem.

You guys have put together a really great program. Thanks for your help.
