Happy New Year!
I am having some trouble with the frequency-mode mapping with the DX Cluster on 40m. I would like to modify the band plan to my liking, but I'm not certain of the file. Would I be looking at bandplan_dxcc291.xml in the US?
Also, should I call my modified file bandplan_dxcc291_user.xml?

Yes

No
Save it as bandplan_r2-user.xml then it wont get overwritten when you install new versions of Log4OM

Terry, Rolf,
After trying the suggested file names that both you and Rolf gave, the program still loads bandplan_dxcc291.xml only.

So far I have tried bandplan_r2-user.xml, bandplan_r2_user.xml, bandplan_dxcc291_user.xml and bandplan_dxcc-user.xml. Is bandplan_dxcc291.xml taking priority over these other file names?2019-01-20 17:51:39.4035 INFO: FileManagement: BAND PLAN begin load database for region 2 / 291

Re: Band Plan Files
beware,"_user" not "-user" -> bandplan_dxcc291_user.xml is the right format
Loading order is:
bandplan_dxcc291_user.xml is searched as first
if not found
bandplan_dxcc291.xml is searched and loaded (if exists, not every country has a specific file)
if not found:
bandplan_r<your region>_user.xml is loaded, if exists
if not found
bandplan_r<your region>.xml is loaded
File loaded is reported in LOG.
If you see a message: Custom Band Plan: Trying to recovery
that means log4om cannot deserialize the XML (malformed) and then loads the standard base region file for your zone.
Loading order is:
- DXCC - USER FILE
- DXCC - Standard file (if exists)
- REGION file - USER FILE
- REGION file - Standard file

Re: Band Plan Files
Hi Lele,
I just tried again with bandplan_dxcc291_user.xml, but nothing indicates a custom band plan or failure. There is a WCM failure later in the log, but I'm fairly certain it has nothing to do with this.
Ciao,
Dana
